Ross Landry was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2009. In June of 2009, he was sworn in as Minister of Justice and Attorney General.
Ross was born and raised in Trenton. He attended the Atlantic Police Academy and has worked for the Sydney and New Glasgow/Trenton Polices Services and the RCMP. As an RCMP officer, Ross developed and delivered national and international training courses for the Proceeds of Crime Branch.
Ross has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Regina and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa. He also has three certificates in Advanced Mediation and Negotiation from Harvard Law School.
Ross has been a member of many boards and groups including the Pictou County United Way, the Bikeways Project and the Pictou County Unites Transportation Committee. He is an avid cyclist and in-line skater, enjoys regular kayaking and hiking and teaches spinning classes at the YMCA in Pictou and New Glasgow.
Ross and his wife, Dianne have three adult children and one granddaughter. |
