Becky Kent was elected to the Nova Scotia Legislature in a by-election on October 4, 2007. Becky has been a resident of Eastern Passage for 23 years, while raising her three sons, operating a small business and being an active volunteer in her community. Becky began her political career as an HRM Councillor. She represented Woodside and Eastern Passage from October 2004 to October 2007. Becky is originally from Shelburne, NS. After earning her psychology degree from Saint Mary's University, she worked for Nova Scotia Power and later owned and operated a pre-school in Eastern Passage. She volunteered with Scouts Canada for 10 years, along with many other organizations, including the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission, United Way and the Prince Arthur SAC. Becky has a strong interest in sport and health promotion, and has been a coach with the Eastern Passage Soccer Association. As a well-known community advocate, dedicated volunteer and professional, Becky has worked tirelessly on behalf of many schools, and local and provincial organizations. |
